【Biography】
Born in Matsue City in Shimane Prefecture
| 4 years old | Taken in by grandmother and moved to Yonago |
| 16 years old | Studied under sculptor Toshiharu Okutani and learned general art, art fundamentals, and drafting composition methods |
| 18 years old | Entered Osaka University of Arts, Department of Fine Arts Later, left school due to family circumstances |
| Studied under Buddha painting artist and adopted a serious stance in Buddha painting. |
Toshiharu Okutani Studied under Wakahiko Yamamoto (1901-1993), a second -generation pupil of Takamura Koun. Okutani returned to his hometown in Sanin at the age of 38, to pursue his artistic activities. He is a member of Nitten.
